Accountant Independency Export

Accountanting firms have a legislative need to check that they do not have ties to their customers other than those related to accounting. Lasso makes this easy by allowing accounting firms to download an excel file with an analysis of their relationships and customers. To do this, Lasso downloads a list of accountants for the accounting firm from CVR.dk, and then analyzes the relationships of the users, highlighting any problematic ties.

How it works

Since the list of accountants for an accounting firm is only available by visiting CVR.dk, and it is prohibited to download the information from our servers, we have developed a solution where the user downloads an application on their computer, runs it and starts the export from there. The application will visit CVR.dk from their own computer to download the list of accountants, after which it sends them to Lasso to be exported to excel. This solution has been approved by the Danish Business Authority.

Technical details

Since downloading and running files on your computer can be prohibited or restricted by your IT department, here is an explanation of how the application is made.

The downloaded file is a 56 MB ZIP file containing an 145 MB EXE file. The EXE file is a WPF application. The rather large size is due to the fact that it has no prerequisites in terms of frameworks etc. It connects to the internet to do two things; visit CVR.dk and perform requests to Lasso's servers. It does not do reads or writes to the local file system, nor does it access any information on the machine it runs on. No details other than what is required to function is transmitted. The application may show warnings that it is not signed when it is run. This warning can be safely ignored.
